I think different people may have different ways of engaging more fully with life. Part of the problem is that we're still looking for once-size-fits-all solutions for problems with a huge range of possible responses.
So in this case, I'm really suggesting a very big re-think of the way we work, the economy's dependence on growth, and whether we want to look at moving toward sustainable solutions rather than further increases in productivity.
I wrote a whole lot of potential answers in Throwing Rocks at the Google Bus, where I offer an economic approach I called "digital distributism." I've written a bunch about it here, but I should probably end pieces like this with a list of links of ideas for better courses forward. Sometimes it feels a bit self-promotional, though.
