Which, if I may be so blunt to say, really sucks. I am feeling vulnerable right now, and do understand the urge to transfer parental authority onto a mayor, a governor, a master plumber...anyone who can provide reassurance.

But sadly, many with the power to do so end up abusing this privilege of consolation.
