Yes yes, Mike. I had a paragraph about that, which got cut. I was saying that the answer is not less police funding, but more. Better salaries, better training, better hours - would not only make for better cops, but attract more qualified recruits. This might not cost more money than the tanks, but it would make less money for the weapons manufacturers whose lobbies influence spending.
